Disucssions with Friends of i5 CID focus on fostering a secure and healthy environment for families, seniors, and locals of all backgrounds. Time investment towards community improvement benefit the current generation but also lay the foundation for a promising future. The vision is to build a community where everyone feels safe, supported, and empowered to lead healthy lives.

First and foremost, envision a revitalized economy in the CID, with thriving small businesses, affordable housing, and accessible job opportunities. This could involve creating incentives for local entrepreneurship, preserving affordable housing options, and fostering partnerships with businesses and organizations to boost economic growth.

In addition, the dream for a better quality of life in the CID envisions a safe and accessible neighborhood that prioritizes the well-being of its residents. This could involve enhanced community accessibility to safety coalitions, infrastructure improvements, increased green spaces, and improved pedestrian and transit infrastructure to make the neighborhood more walkable and sustainable.

Furthermore, mitigating impact of industrial pollution is just the beginning of protecting a culturally rich neighborhood. Friends of i-5 see the preservation of historic landmarks as important. For promotion of cultural events and celebrations, Friends of i-5 celebrate the inclusion of multicultural programming. Participation in projects that support sustainability and environmental justice advocacy for that which protects the unique identities of all residents.
