Addressing Safety and Accessibility at the I-5 Underpass in the CID plays a crucial role in connecting the community, yet concerns about safety and accessibility persist.
At FRIENDS OF I-5 CID, we are optimistic about addressing the lack of light at the I-5 underpass. We intend to partner with Puget Sound Energy to install solar lights that will illuminate the underpass, enhancing safety and visibility for all pedestrians and motorists. These solar lights not only provide a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution, but also offer a cost-effective and reliable source of lighting for the underpass. We believe that this collaboration with Puget Sound Energy exemplifies our commitment to improving the infrastructure and safety of the I-5 corridor, and we look forward to the positive impact that these solar lights will have on the community.
The installation of emergency call boxes would provide a vital resource for residents and visitors, ensuring that help is readily available in case of emergencies. Additionally, improved lighting would not only enhance visibility and deter potential safety hazards but also contribute to a greater sense of security for pedestrians.
Furthermore, the provision of sanitation stations is imperative for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, ultimately promoting a welcoming and accessible environment for all. These measures are essential to fostering a safer, more inclusive space within the CID, reflecting a commitment to the well-being and comfort of its inhabitants.
